After coming home from an afternoon of fishing, a Ronald D. Wittenberg, a Lackawanna man got hit by a train while walking down the center of the railroad tracks. Apparently, the train was sounding its whistle for almost a minute straight before hitting Ronald. Ronald was killed by a train while his friend, who was 40 feet ahead of him, didn’t get hit.

I like lottery tickets, but I don’t know if I would give my life for them. I mean cellphones and driving are bad, but now, its lottery tickets and trains.

I just don’t understand how someone could get hit by a train if the horn is going off and his friend, who is only 40 feet away, is yelling to get his attention. It just doesn’t make any sense at all. I mean, even if Ronald was deaf and dumb, His friend should have been able to run over and get him off of the tracks before the train hit and killed him. This is one of the weirdest things that I have heard of.

The only way that I can see this happening is if the train was coming around a corner in a wooded area, where Ronald could not see it coming before the train killed him. This is a very sad thing. I am sorry for all of Ronald Wittenberg’s family. It is a freak accident, I mean how often do you hear of a man killed by a train.
